Having not flown for nearly a month while I wait for the medical centre to get its act together (or maybe I didn't book my renewal early enough :S) I went up with the Boss to practice some EFATOs (engine failure after take off) and also did a practice field landing.

The PFL was good fun, we chose what seemed to look like a nicely mown field on a farm, did our circuit and didnt put the power on to climb away until we were down to around 50 - 100ft. I didn't see this (too busy flying) but the boss said two farm workers came running out of a barn in to the field we were aiming for, I just hope they were running to help had we have really lost the engine rather than coming running out with their favourite 12-bore!

It was also a good day for engine off gliding - at one point we were sat in 10kts up with the engine off, an incredible thermal for this time of year.

Enjoyed the flight - good practice and good fun! Had 50 minutes up all together.
